SATURDAY DECEMBER 7

Thank you to all who came out and participated.

CRASH/MAT
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 2

What if the circus traded laughs for frights? It was a night of death defying tricks and treats to follow up on Halloween's frights.  Crash/Mat held an evening of spooky fun with dance trapeze, aerial contortion, and unique performances. Audiences saw death flying through the air and catching your breath. They watched as creatures perform rituals, conjuring awe and wonder from thin air.

Crash/Mat brought their unique performance to Dunkirk with a troupe of extraordinary artists from Toronto and Chicago for a second year and the Adams was packed despite gusting winds and torrential rains.

DRAWING AS MEDIUM
AUGUST  10-18

How do you make a building that was abandoned to time and left to rot become an asset to the community? You start with an idea.  An idea to bring people together to help transform that space into a place. And each person that steps into that place helps it to grow and flourish.

The Adams is not a gallery.  It is a place where ideas can grow.

Drawings are the start of an idea.  They are the medium through which we represent our thoughts with a pen and pencil, printed or drawn, with computers and gauche.  These ideas can then develop into a conversation, meeting someone, or a new idea.

The Adams invites you to a performance of ideas on paper.  Come see 25 artists and designers from Canada, Mexico, South Africa, England, across the United States and the world use drawing as a medium to convey ideas.

MAIN STREET BENCH
ON THE FRONT LAWN

Harriet "Skeeter" Tower may have left Dunkirk, but her legacy will live on in so many ways.  See the project that started our involvement in this great place.

The Main Street Bench will be on display on the lawn of the Adams for the next few weeks before it is moved to its permanent location in the parklet at Main St and 6th St.

This project was made possible by the hard work of Skeeter, The Main Thing: This Block Matters and a generous grant from the North Chautauqua County Foundation. And a special shout out to Mike DeLand for helping out.

MEASURE FOR MEASURE
MARCH 22-24, 2019

Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, though written over 400 years ago, proves to be distinctively relevant in the age of the #MeToo movement. Isabella, an insightful novice in the order of St. Clare, is confronted with a choice: to give up her body to her brother's captor in exchange for her brother's life, or to refuse his captor, the deputy Duke of Vienna, Angelo, and watch him inflict his revenge. A story of manipulation, shame, pride, and control, Measure for Measure not only explores the relationships between men and women in contemporary society, but indeed calls into question the very ways in which our societies place and exercise power over others.
